Inspiration
You would like an interior that is comfortable, quietly luxurious and genuinely restful, and inspiration is not the problem: the appealing images are all saved. What is missing is a concrete plan. You are wary of making the wrong choices, and understandably so. It is a real investment, and arranging everything yourself takes a great deal of time.
The work behind a new interior is easily underestimated. It helps to have a professional who understands you, translates your wishes into a personal design and then stays for the realisation. We call our style Soothing Luxury: luxury that is there to calm you rather than to impress.

Calm, warmth and luxury
We know from experience how much an interior does to your state of mind; that conviction runs through this whole website. If you are ready to give your home that calm, warmth and luxury, you are welcome at Studio Reinder Veenstra.
Wherever you are starting from
For some clients this is the first time working with a design studio; others remember a good collaboration from years ago. Both are welcome, and both can expect the same from us. So here is what the journey looks like.
Inspiration
After you fill in the contact form, we ring you. In that call we discuss what you need help with and whether our way of working suits you; it has to click on both sides. If it does, we plan a conversation at the studio, and you get some homework first. We ask for a building drawing of your home and for images of interiors that appeal to you, and you fill in our digital programme of wishes. That way everyone arrives at the studio well prepared.
Inspiration
At the studio we go through all of it together, and we can then tell you what the investment will be. If you decide to go ahead, we set the project up in our system and the work begins. Every project runs through four phases: three design phases (sketch design, preliminary design and final design) and the build. Each phase includes one revision round, and we only move on once you are satisfied.
Inspiration
Step 1. The sketch design
In the sketch phase we build your home in our design software, and we come and measure on site if needed. This is where the first ideas take shape and the layout is worked out against your programme of wishes and your images. We also set out materials: some because they clearly fit your wishes, some deliberately chosen to provoke a reaction, because your response tells us more about what you find beautiful. The sketch design becomes a presentation, shown on the big screen when we go through it together.
Because we like to surprise you, there is a fair chance the presentation holds ideas you had not considered. So we give you time to think it over, usually a week. After that we work your feedback in, arrive at the definitive layout of your interior, and move on to the next phase.
Step 2. The preliminary design
Now the interior takes its provisional shape. It is an intensive phase, because everything that belongs to the concept is added: a furniture plan, a carefully worked-out lighting plan, taps, door hardware, and the floor, wall and window treatments. Bespoke joinery comes in here too, such as kitchens, cabinets, bathroom furniture and walk-in wardrobes. We resolve the points where one material meets the next, so the whole reads as one design, and where useful we build 3D models and impressions.
Inspiration
Then it is time to show you the preliminary design and hear your response. This is also the moment for decisions: after the presentation we go out together to choose the furniture, the window treatments are settled, and the lighting is chosen to match, so all of it can be carried into the final design.
Step 3. The final design
The big moves have been made; now comes the fine-tuning. The pieces for your interior are decided and the costs are clear. We work everything into the presentation of the final design, which also contains the finishing schedule for every wall, ceiling and floor. The parties who will carry out the work can read in detail what we expect of them.
With that, your interior design is solid, and we are ready for the build: the last phase before you can settle into the result. A little more patience.
Inspiration
Step 4. The build
From design we move to the real work. We order all the goods and store them in our own warehouse until it is time to install. Even with a detailed plan, the contractor, the installer or the floor layer will have questions along the way; those questions come to us. We take over the consultation with the trades, attend the site meetings and supervise the build, so the plan is carried out to the letter. That saves you time you do not have, and it asks for building knowledge most clients understandably lack.
Once the building work is finished and handed over, the furniture can come in. We load everything at the warehouse and come to set it in place; where needed we bring in a furniture lift or a crane, for an apartment or a penthouse. A day after the furniture and wall decoration are in, we return to complete the work with the interior styling.

Ah. Lovely.
Time to enjoy your new interior: the place where you come to rest after a long day, where the parties happen, where a tear can fall, and where you are completely yourself. This is where the memories with the people you love will be made.
Thank you for letting me take you through my work, and for tasting a little of Soothing Luxury.
I look forward to meeting you. Speak soon,

The first phase
Phase one of the journey, also on its own.
Two layouts per room, drawn or in 3D, the materials and a first indication of the cost. At your home or entirely remote, and you decide about the rest afterwards.
